I am a firm believer that, some days, even in the middle of our busy lives (or the holiday season), we all benefit from doing NOTHING. Yes, I said NOTHING.
My “to do” list is just as long as the next person’s. After all, my son’s birthday party will be at my house in approximately 48 hours; I have BARELY started my Christmas shopping; my Christmas cards (the ones I bought on sale 2 years ago) have not surfaced; I need to do laundry and go to the grocery store, and …., and…., and….
So, how did I handle that this weekend? Saturday, I got a massage and yesterday, I stayed in bed all day and did NOTHING. I took a small morning nap and a little afternoon nap. I watched part of an old Christmas movie on TV. I read a couple of magazines from the pile by my bed. I took a shower at 4:00 p.m. See, it was NOTHING!
P.S. I don’t have any drastic weight loss to report on my quest to lose 27 lbs. before 8/5/2007 (my 40th birthday). I have officially lost 1 pound. I can report, however, that I exercised for 6 days in a row last week. That is a new record for me! I am proud of myself and that makes me a little more committed this week.
